US Marine Steve Jorgenson

US Marine Corporal Steve Jorgenson, aged 22, was killed in a traffic accident in New York city on 26th May 2011.

Cpl. Jorgenson, who had served nine months in Afghanistan, was in New York for Fleet Week and was struck by a car while he was crossing a highway. The young Marine was about to start a 6-month bomb-disposal course.

Cpl. Jorgenson served with the 24th Marine Expedition Unit, based at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. He died at the scene of the accident.
