US Marine 1st Lt. Ryan K. Iannelli, age 27, from Clarksboro, New Jersey, died on 28th September 2011 in a helicopter crash while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.
1Lt Iannelli served with Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 269, Marine Air Group 29, 2nd Marine Air Wing, II Marine Expeditionary Force, based at Marine Corps Air Station New River, North Carolina.
He graduated from Oral Roberts University in 2006 with a degree in public relations and advertising, according to his Facebook page. He also received an MBA from Felician College in Lodi.
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
RIP Marine...prayers to the family from a New River Marine Mom. This is close to home. I feel incredible sadness and grieve the loss of this fine Marine.
