US Army Specialist Robert E. Dyas, from Nampa, Idaho, was one of two soldiers killed in action in Kandahar province on 21st September 2011 from injuries received when enemy forces attacked their unit with small arms fire.
21-year-old Spc. Dyas served with the 2nd Battalion, 34th Armor Regiment, 1st Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, based at Fort Riley, Kansas.
Spc. Dyas leaves his mother Melissa Nowland, stepfather Jerry Nowland, brother Jake and fiancee, Kasey Kobelt.
The other soldier killed was 24-year-old Spc. Jakob J. Roelli
