US Army Private 1st Class Carlos A. Aparicio, from San Bernadino, California died on 23rd September 2011 from injuries received in a bomb blast in Wardak province.
19-year-old Pfc. Aparicio served with the 2nd Battalion, 4th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, based at Fort Polk.
Another soldier killed in the same incident was named as Sgt. Rafael Bigai Baez.
