US Special Forces Captain Joseph Schultz

US Special Forces Captain Joseph W. Schultz, aged 36, was killed in Wardak province, Afghanistan on 29th May 2011 from injuries sustained by a bomb blast.

Capt. Schultz, from Port Angeles, Washington, served with the 3rd Special Forces Group, based at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Capt. Schultz grew up in Sacramento, California and Springfield, Illinois, and graduated from the University of Oregon with bachelor's degrees in political science and economics. He was a former aide to Gov. Gray Davis.

He will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery. His mother, Betsy Reed Schultz, lives in Port Angeles, Washington.

  1. Joseph visited in our home with his father at the age of 9 years. His father is the Rev. Thomas E. Schultz, currently, residing with his wife, Sarah, in Korea.

  3. WE KNOW AND MET HIS FATHER SEVERAL YEARS AGO, AROUND 18 TO BE EXACT AT A MUTUAL FRIENDS HOME. WE ARE VERY SORRY. OUR PRAYERS WILL BE FOR THE FAMILY, MAY GOD BE WITH THEM DURING THIS TIME OF TRAGEDY AND GRIEVING. MAY HIS COMFORT AND LOVE BRING SOME RELIEF TO THEIR PAIN.
