Two British soldiers killed in action - 16 June 2011

Two British soldiers have been killed in separate incidents in Afghanistan, Thursday 16th June 2011.

Craftsman Andrew Found from the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, serving with the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards, was killed in an explosion while on an operation near Adinza'i in the Gereshk valley area, within the northern Nahr-e Saraj district of Helmand province. During an operation to detain an insurgent, the soldier was working to recover a vehicle which had been damaged in an explosion when he was fatally wounded by an explosive device.

In a separate incident, Corporal Lloyd Newell from the Parachute Regiment was killed by small arms fire while engaging enemy forces on operations in Helmand province.
