25-year-old US Marine Sergeant Marlon E. Myrie died in Helmand province on 25th June 2011 while conducting combat operations.
Sgt. Myrie, from Oakland Park, Florida, served with the 2nd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, based at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
He joined the Marines in 2004 and served two tours of duty in Iraq (2005 and 2007). He deployed to Afghanistan in January this year.
Sgt. Myrie leaves his wife and child.
R.I.P Sgt Myrie. I know exactly what you endured there. You're in a better place now, out of that dump called Afghanistan. May your memory live on forever.
ReplyDeleteI served with Sgt Myrie in Iraq in 2005. He was a good Marine, and a good man. I can not explain my gratitude for your sacrifice. May you rest in peace.
ReplyDeleteI met sgt myrie when he was new to our unit in 3/6. I had the honor to serve with him in Iraq 2005. I enjoyed knowing him and serving side by side with him his memory will always be in the hearts of those who knew him.
