US Marine Special Ops Corporal William Woitowicz

23-year-old US Marine Corporal William J. Woitowicz died in action from multiple gunshot wounds in a battle with enemy forces in Badghis province on 7th June 2011.

Cpl. Woitowicz served with the 2nd Marine Special Operations Battalion, Marine Special Operations Regiment, U.S. Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command, based at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

One of his former teachers, Michael Donnelly, said of Cpl. Woitowicz: "I was proud of him as a soldier. He will be missed by anybody who knew him."

Cpl William Woitowicz, known for his caring attitude and helpfulness to others, leaves his parents, a brother and a sister.
