US Army Spc. Richard Emmons

22 year old US Army Spc. Richard C. Emmons III, from North Granby, Conn., was killed by an enemy fired rocket propelled grenade on 31st May 2011 in Logar province, Afghanistan.

Spc. Emmons served with the 2nd Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, based at Fort Polk.

Spc. Emmons joined the US Army in September 2009 and transferred to Fort Polk in May 2010. He leaves his mother and step-father.
