  2. Prayers are with PFC Dustin Feldhaus' family. You can and should be justly proud of your brave soldier's sacrifice and dedication to his country and family. It is great young men and women like your soldier, who willingly step forward and say "here am I, send me" when their beloved country is threatened. It is wonderful young Americans like your soldier who keep the US Army "rolling along" through the decades and keep our freedoms intact. We will be forever indebted to your brave soldier.

@ Deborah - this is sort of random, as I did not know Dustin. I did, however, recently move into a house in Glendale. There have been several cards sent here addressed to 'The Family of PFC Dustin Feldhaus c/o Nichol Etchells. I am renting this place and wasn't left w a forwarding address or anything. I 'googled' Dustin's name and read his story. If you have any info/address for his mother, I would like to forward these to her. Please feel free to reach out at lindeccav@gmail.com. Thanks and very sorry for your loss.

  4. I have been shown in the files of the War Department a statement of the Adjutant General of Massachusetts that you are the mother of five sons who have died gloriously on the field of battle. I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.
    Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,
    A. Lincoln
