US Navy Petty Officer 1st Class Jason R. Workman, from Utah was one of the thirty US troops killed in action on 6th August 2011 when a Chinook helicopter was shot down by enemy forces in Wardak province.
He had served in the US Navy for the past eight years and was a member of the elite Seal Team Six. He graduated from San Juan High School in 1997. An accomplished athlete, he earned many All-State awards.
Petty Officer Workman is survived by his parents Betty and Rodney Workman, his wife Stacey, their young son Jax and three brothers, Corey, Stephen and Timothy.
