US Marine Sergeant Joshua J. Robinson was killed in action during combat operations in Helmand province on 7th August 2011. He was shot by enemy forces while on patrol.
The 29-year-old, from Omaha, Nebraska served with the 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division based at Camp Pendleton, California.
Sgt. Robinson was on his first deployment to Afghanistan but had previously served two tours in Iraq. He had earned a Purple Heart and Combat Action Ribbon among other awards.
He leaves his wife, Rhonda, and two sons, ages 4 and 5.
