US Army Specialist Pernell J. Herrera, age 33, from Espanola, New Mexico, died from injuries suffered in a non-combat incident on 31st December 2011 in Helmand province.
Spc. Herrera served with the 1st Battalion, 171st Aviation Regiment, based at Santa Fe.
