US Army Private 1st Class Tyler M. Springmann was one of two American soldiers killed by a bomb blast in Kandahar province on 17th July 2011.
Pfc. Springmann, age 19 from Hartland, Maine, served with the Alaska-based 3rd Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team.
Earlier this year, Pfc. Springmann married his high school sweetheart, Brittney, and was looking forward to returning home on leave in December.
In addition to his wife, Pfc. Springmann leaves his mother Tina Stratton, step-father Ben Martin and his father Robert Springmann, who is in the Army in Afghanistan and had escorted his son's body back to the U.S.

The other soldier killed in the same incident was Sergeant 1st Class Kenneth Elwell.
Robert if you are reading this site just know that I am heart broken for you and the loss of tyler. I am so sorry for your loss. He was a good kid. We will all miss him dearly.
