Three Pennsylvania soldiers killed

Pennsylvania TV station WHTM has reported that three soldiers with the Pennsylvania Army National Guard's 131st Transportation Company were killed in Afghanistan on Monday, according to friends and relatives.

On Monday, NATO announced that three ISAF soldiers had been killed in eastern Afghanistan by the blast of an improvised explosive device, but gave no further details. The U.S Department of Defense has not yet confirmed the deaths.

Update: they have been named as Staff-Sgt. Kenneth R. VanGiesen, Sgt. Edward W. Koehler, and Sgt. Brian K. Mowery
