US Marine Sergeant Christopher Diaz was one of two Marines who died during combat operations in Helmand province on 28th September 2011.
27-year-old Sgt. Diaz, from Albuquerque, served with Headquarters Battalion, Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, based at Twentynine Palms, California. This was his first deployment to Afghanistan.
He leaves his parents, two brothers, a young son and daughter.

Your family faces the task of change and a tough road of whys and hows, but not alone…Your son was an extraordinary person. He lived a life of bravery, courage, and faith. He loved fiercely, laughed loudly, and believed in giving his undeniable devotion to the US Marine Corp. His life and his sacrifice will NEVER be forgotten or ignored. On a headstone there is a date of birth and a date of death, but the thing that is the most important is the dash in the middle. Because this little line represents all his dreams, memories, laughs, cries, milestones, disappointments, loves, heartbreaks, choices, everything he experienced. He will live on. Chris may your days be filled with Grandpa’s silly jokes and your Godfather’s stern looks. May you your nights be filled with the love your family gave you. We will miss you marine until eternity.

ReplyDeleteEven though we may not have known each other our Families are very close your Grand dad the Great Chavy and my Dad George served in the Corps togeather. Then many years later your grand dad was my Recruiter when I became a Marine. Sgt Diaz knowing your Dad and family all my life I sincerily feel the loss. But we must remember and realize not only is there a Great Angel with your Grand dad looking over us but now he is joined by another not only GREAT ANGEL BUT ANOTHER MARINE.
