Maryland National Guard Major Robert Marchanti

US Army Major Robert J. Marchanti II of the Maryland Army National Guard was killed on 25th February 2012 at the Afghan Interior Ministry in Kabul.

48-year-old Major Marchanti served with the 1st Battalion, 29th Infantry Division Security Partnering Team. He had been working since September as a mentor to the Afghan National Police. This was his first deployment to Afghanistan.

He joined the Army in 1984 and the Maryland National Guard in 1986. He leaves his wife, four children and a grandson.

  2. Robert Marchanti was a great man of God! He was a loving husband, father and grandfather! He showed God's Love in all he did. He will be truly missed. Prayers go to his family.
